ERISAhelpcenter is a publication of ERISAssist. In this policy, we, us, and our refer to ERISAssist. This policy covers erisahelpcenter.com and this publication's newsletter subscriptions and correspondence.

Newsletter subscriptions and optional interests

When you subscribe, we collect your email address to deliver the newsletter and manage your subscription. You may also provide optional information about your professional role, provider specialty, and plan-type interests. You do not need to complete these fields to subscribe.

We store these selections to support possible future newsletter customization and may use them to understand our audience and prepare the aggregate reports described below. Customization is not currently available. Subscribers to this publication receive the same standard newsletter regardless of their selections.

Correspondence and website information

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include.

We use Cloudflare Pages to host and deliver this website. Our newsletter signup and optional-interest forms send the submitted email address and applicable role, provider-specialty, and plan-type selections through a Cloudflare Worker to Loops. The signup process also records the website as the subscription source. The signup service can generate diagnostic error information when processing fails. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website usage and performance, including page-load measurements, referring pages, and landing pages. Its analytics beacon does not use cookies or browser storage. Separately, this website stores your display-theme choice in your browser’s local storage. Selected searches and filters can appear in the page URL and browser history. Information may be processed outside your country. Cloudflare’s analytics processing location depends on network routing. Loops identifies its current listed subprocessors as processing in the United States. Proton Mail states that its mail servers are located in Switzerland, Germany, or Norway.

How we use information

We use subscription information to deliver the requested newsletter, maintain your subscription and optional interests, and honor your unsubscribe choice. We use correspondence to respond to your questions and requested follow-up. We use the website information described above for the stated website purposes and may prepare aggregate audience and engagement reports as described below.

Newsletter delivery and engagement

We use Loops to manage subscriptions and deliver newsletters. Open and link-click tracking is enabled for our newsletter account. This tracking can record email opens and link clicks and associate those events with a subscriber record. We use these measures to understand delivery and engagement and may prepare aggregate reports. Email-client privacy features and automated checks can affect their accuracy. If we provide sponsor reports, we provide only the aggregate information described below.

Providers and other recipients

We use Proton Mail for our correspondence mailboxes. We also use the providers identified above to operate the website and handle newsletter subscriptions and delivery. These services receive the information needed for their functions. Information may also be accessed by the people who operate the publication.

Provider processing is subject to the applicable service arrangements and privacy terms. The processing purposes and locations described above apply.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or a valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, or a threat to the publication's security.

Sponsors and audience reporting

Our website and newsletter may include clearly identified paid sponsorships or advertising. We may provide sponsors with aggregate audience and engagement reports. Reports may include aggregate click rates and aggregated information derived from optional professional characteristics or preferences, such as role, position, plan type, provider specialty, or areas of interest.

We do not provide sponsors with subscriber email addresses, individual subscriber profiles, or reports identifying a subscriber's reading, opening, or clicking activity. Optional subscriber information is included in sponsor reports only in aggregate form.

We combine or withhold reports where a small group or other available information could allow an individual to be identified. We do not sell or rent our subscriber list or provide it to sponsors for their own mailing.

Other publications and promotional emails

Subscribing to this newsletter does not automatically subscribe you to another ERISAssist publication, ERISAware outreach, or separate promotional emails. The requested newsletter may include clearly labeled advertising or affiliated promotions.

We may offer separate promotional emails in the future. Before enrolling you, we will describe those communications and provide a separate choice. Subscription confirmations and support replies address their administrative purpose rather than enrolling you in another communication category.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter. The online unsubscribe takes effect immediately, without logging in, providing a reason, or confirming by email. A message already sent may still arrive.

The unsubscribe result explains which communications the request covers. You can also contact us to request that all newsletter and promotional emails from ERISAssist stop. Unsubscribing does not prevent a response to a new question or another administrative message that you request.

Retention and deletion

Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; it does not necessarily delete every record associated with your subscription.

We retain your email address and optional interests while needed to manage your active subscription. We keep subscription-request and status information as needed to administer your request and honor your choices. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery but does not automatically erase every associated record. We retain a limited unsubscribe record to help prevent accidental re-enrollment or unwanted email. We do not use that record to send promotional messages. You can request deletion at [email protected]. We handle these requests manually, removing unnecessary profile information while preserving the limited information needed to honor your opt-out or meet an applicable obligation. Delivery and engagement information, correspondence, technical logs, and backups have different retention needs and provider-controlled deletion processes. We retain information under our control only while needed for the purposes described in this policy or an applicable obligation. A deletion request does not necessarily remove information immediately from provider logs or backups. Where provider assistance is needed, we use the available request process and explain any relevant limits.

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. We handle requests under applicable law and explain any information retained to honor an opt-out or satisfy another applicable obligation.

Security and sensitive information

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Please do not send participant records, Social Security numbers, account credentials, or confidential plan information through a newsletter signup or general publication email.

Audience and external links

ERISAhelpcenter serves professionals who work with U.S. retirement plans and the laws, regulations, and practices affecting those plans. The website and newsletter are intended for professional and business readers and are not directed to children.

Links may lead to third-party websites or to ERISAware, an affiliated ERISAssist offering. Those destinations have their own terms and privacy practices. This policy describes this publication's handling of information; it does not replace the policies for another service. Following a link does not by itself enroll you in another publication or email program.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as our practices change and will revise the date above. We will provide any additional notice or choice required by applicable law. A policy update does not by itself enroll you in a new email category.
